The Kiwanis Club of Somerville awarded twelve $1,000 scholarships to deserving Somerville High School students this week. The students were selected from among seventy-five applicants for the annual awards. Six of those students were able to join us today for the club’s annual scholarship luncheon at the Mount Vernon Restaurant.
Other scholarship recipients unable to attend included Jinell Jovel Perez, Victoria Dutra, Lola Andrew-Blondin, Daniel Campos, Atticus Kaye, and Diego Magana Marroquin.
President Dawn Austin and Program Chairman Anthony Ciccariello who is also a former Somerville High School Headmaster, praised the students and the members of the selection committee for their work reviewing the applications, which included a question, “how do you plan to continue community service in your life?”
