Members of the Cadillac Kiwanis Club recently hosted a dinner at Lakeside Charlies for the recipients of their 2025 scholarship awards.
This year seven area high school graduates each received a $2000 scholarship check for their continuing education.
The Kiwanis Club of Cadillac is dedicated to helping the children of our community, one child at a time.
“It’s been said that not all high school graduates can attend college,” said member Tom Talluto. “We recognized the need to help young people develop into carpenters, electricians, welders, and other skilled trades. They are vital to providing services to the citizens of our community.”
Towards this goal, the Kiwanis members partnered with area schools through the Wexford-Missaukee ISD Career Tech Center and Cadillac High School to help young people pursue a career in the skilled trades.
The awardees included: Lia Cuninella, Northern Michigan Christian High School and the CTC, where she studied Building Business and Marketing; and Kylee Sandelius, Lillian Allen,  Kata Suminski and Rowyn Waddell, all of Cadillac High School.
The two students unable to attend the dinner will accept their awards later included: Mailey Raymond of Marion High School and Genesis Wilson of McBain High School and the  CTC Electronics Tech program.
