VALLEY CITY, N.D. (VCEA) – Madilyn Klabo and Brooke Eggermont have been awarded the Valley City Education Association Scholarship (VCEA). To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be a graduate of Valley City High School and enrolled in a teacher education program.
Madilyn, daughter of Sam and Mark Klabo, is a senior at Valley City State University majoring in music education. Her passion for teaching really developed during her time coaching speech and debate at Valley City High School. VCSU Professor Heide stated “Madilyn’s compassion and wealth of experience leading students will make her an effective teacher for decades to come.”
Brooke, daughter of Kevin and Kim Eggermont, is a senior at Valley City State University majoring in elementary education. Brooke has a passion for helping others, especially children. Professor Dr. Cindy Zahn states that Brooke is very enthusiastic and extremely innovative while building relationships. “Her eagerness and dedication for educating youth is evident in her day-to-day actions.”
