The Knoxville High School senior awards and scholarship distribution ceremony was held Wednesday night at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center.
This was the twenty-second edition of this annual ceremony and members of the Knoxville High School class of 2025 were awarded over $110,000 in financial aid by both community scholarship donors and those who donated through the Knoxville Panther Scholarship Foundation. The Knoxville Panther Scholarship Foundation was founded on the principle that every KHS graduate that applies for a scholarship through the foundation will receive at least one scholarship. In the Foundation’s 22 years, 1,662 KHS graduates have applied for a scholarship and every applicant has received a scholarship.
At this year’s award ceremony, the foundation honored Kevin Crawford with the establishment of the Kevin Crawford Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a KHS graduate who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to the school district and community. The inaugural scholarship was awarded to Janie Maasdam. Crawford was a founding member of the foundation serving in various capacities over the years. Crawford was also the principal of the high school from 1997 until 2014.
The foundation also provides scholarships to graduates who are in their second, third, and fourth year of post secondary education and this year the foundation provided $186,000 in financial aid to members of the graduating classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024. In 22 years donors have provided $2.1 Million Dollars in financial aid to KHS graduates. For a complete list of this year’s recipients follow the links below.
