The Kroc Center recently awarded $19,000 in scholarships to support the educational and professional development of local students.
This year’s scholarships include 10 Dr. Riggs Leadership Scholarships, each in the amount of $1,000, awarded to graduating high school seniors pursuing post-secondary education.
“These scholarships recognize students who have demonstrated strong leadership, character, and a commitment to serving their community,” a press release said.
In addition, two Kroc Center staff members were awarded Major Ben Markham Continuing Education Scholarships, each valued at $4,500. These scholarships are designed to support Kroc employees and their families in their efforts to further their education and career development while continuing to serve within the organization.
A scholarship reception sponsored by ICCU was held May 8.
“We believe in investing in the potential of our youth and community,” said ICCU Community Development Director Roxanne Kusler. “These scholarships represent not just financial assistance, but a message of encouragement as these individuals strive toward a brighter future through education.”
