LA CROSSE (WKBT) — The La Crosse Kiwanis Club honored 10 outstanding local high school students with scholarships during a special recognition ceremony held Tuesday.
Each student received a $750 scholarship to support their post-high school educational or career goals, along with a recognition plaque and balloon bouquet to commemorate their achievements.
“They don’t have to be the best athlete or be the best student but maybe just somebody that’s really a good kid that might be excelling in just the way they act at school or have something outside of the home that prevents then. Maybe they work or those other types of things,” Co-chair of the La Crosse Kiwanis Club Abbie Leithold-Gerzema said.
The scholarships are designed to provide financial support for students as they pursue their educational or career aspirations after high school graduation.
