Aleks Jaskiewicz is the recipient of the 2025 Lael Swank Memorial Scholarship, awarded annually to Crestwood football players who continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level.Jaskiewicz will continue his academic and football career at Division II Shippensburg University in the fall.
The scholarship is awarded in memory of the late Lael Swank, who passed away from breast cancer in March of 2020. Swank battled breast cancer for 10 years. She was a long-time supporter of Crestwood football as well as other Crestwood and Mountain Top sports teams.
Her son, Garrett, a Crestwood football alumnus, also played football at Susquehanna University. Her son Jason was also a member of the Crestwood football team and currently is a sophomore at West Virginia University.
The award is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship in the amount of $2,500 paid directly to the student or family. Recipients are selected by a committee consisting of Crestwood’s head football coach Ryan Arcangeli, Crestwood Director of Athletics Michael McCree, and Randall Swank.
Since the inaugural scholarships were granted in 2021, the scholarship program has paid a total of $16,500 to nine former Crestwood football players.
