EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A Lakeside High School student is in trouble after making a threatening comment during class on Tuesday morning.
In a letter sent home to parents, school officials state a student made comments of a threatening nature regarding a school bus.
Officials say the comments were overheard by others in the class.
High school students across the CSRA will have a chance to connect with more than 100 colleges and universities — and get a chance at scholarships.
The Columbia County School District Police were contacted. Upon investigation, the student who made the comments is being held accountable according to the code of conduct and the law.
“Safety of students and staff is a top priority and we take incidents such as these extremely seriously and will investigate fully,” said school officials.
They encourage parents to speak with their student about the seriousness of making threatening comments, even in a joking manner, and the consequences that will follow.
