{KXLG< Watertown} This week, Lake Are Technical College hosted their annual Build Dakota Scholarship Luncheon. This annual event brings together Stretch-the-Million industry partners and their first-year Build Dakota Scholars.
The featured speaker at the event was Tom Glanzer, Community Relations Manager at NorthWestern Energy in Huron. He informed those gathered that he was basically an average student growing up, but he didn’t let that prevent him from becoming a successful sportscaster and business owner. He urged the students to also be the best versions of themselves…
He said that the youth of today are often ridiculed because of the amount of time they spend on their phones or computers. However, Glanzer thinks these are the people who will be the most successful…
He said that the baby boomers may have invented all of the current technology, but the current generation is perfecting it, one of the reasons why businesses and industries are investing in their education…
This year, Lake Area Technical College celebrated its 11th Cohort of Build Dakota Scholars, awarding 155 scholarships.
