A standout Girl Scout from Lauderhill is honored for her career ambitions and commitment to vocational education.
Addison Sobararm, a resident of Lauderhill, has been named the inaugural recipient of the Robin Trapani Memorial Girl Scout Scholarship, a $2,500 award presented by the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida. The scholarship was one of eight announced during the organization’s 2025 Gold Award Ceremony held at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts on May 23.
The award honors the legacy of Robin Trapani, known for her passion for the Girl Scout community and her expertise in skilled trades. The scholarship supports Girl Scouts pursuing careers in vocational fields or skilled professions requiring specialized training.
Addison, already certified as a dental assistant through Atlantic Technical High School, plans to continue her journey in the dental field by attending dental hygienist school this year. Her ultimate goal is to become a dentist.
During the ceremony, 27 young women were honored for earning the prestigious Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, and more than $18,500 in scholarships were awarded to support their higher education.
The 2025 scholarship recipients represent a wide range of talents, passions, and goals—from advancing women’s health education and S.T.E.M. careers to promoting pet safety and cultural representation in media.
Since launching its scholarship program in 2008, the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida has expanded the initiative by 2,500%, awarding support to 48 local Girl Scouts pursuing their educational dreams.
