(ST. JOSEPH, Mo) Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe announced the maximum benefit for the Missouri Blue Scholarship.
The Missouri Blue Scholarship Program has awarded over $4.49 million to more than 500 scholarship recipients. Those recipients will be awarded $6,000 after a $1 million funding increase.
Recruitment Officer with the St. Joseph Police Department, Ethan Miles, says that the best thing they can do for recruits is find them a station to start with.
“And that’s been our biggest achievement through recruiting, is once we can get into the academies and talk to the ones that don’t know where they’re wanting to go, and show them what Saint Joe has to offer, and show them we can take care of the bills for you, figure out a way to take care of covering the cost of things for you, and kind of open that door for you that has been been astronomical in getting results for people to come in.” Said Officer Miles.
