HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – The Lee Generals Girls basketball team celebrated three players that signed College Basketball scholarships.
Limaya Batimba signed with Stillman College, while her fellow teammates Khaleyah Jones-Odea and Jayla High SchoolTurner signed with Gadsden State and Calhoun College respectively.
“It means the world to me actually because it’s a start to a new beginning,” Batimba said. “So, I’ve been doing good as I’ve been here at Lee High School and it only gets bigger from here.”
“It feels great because my senior year I didn’t really get to play because I had gotten into a car accident and I feel like I’ll be able to play now and show everybody what I got,” Turner said.
“It means a lot because I’ve worked hard since I was little, so it feels good to get this opportunity,” Jones-Odeh said after the signing.
