Lexington Senior High School held its commencement ceremony for its Class of 2025 on May 31 at Philpott Memorial Stadium.
A total of 190 graduates walked across the stage, cheered on by their families, staff and community members. Together, these graduates earned $4,374,192 in scholarships.
At the top of this class were valedictorian Adyson B. Griffin and salutatorian Jayden C. Moore, whose speeches captured the spirit of perseverance and promise that defined the graduating class.
The ceremony featured remarks from class president Dustin Prichard, Assistant Principal Cynthia Mosley and Principal Jermaine Porter. Superintendent Nakia Hardy joined Porter and members of the Lexington City Schools Board of Education in conferring diplomas.
Many graduates were also recognized for academic and extracurricular excellence, including honor graduates, members of the National Honor Society, National Beta Club, and National Technical Honor Society College and Career Ready graduates, as well those graduating summa cum laude, magna cum laude and cum laude.
A special moment in the ceremony included the presentation of legacy pins, honoring parents and guardians of Class of 2025 graduates who are also Lexington Senior High School alumni. This tradition underscores the deep roots and shared pride that connect generations of Yellow Jackets.
“Our graduates have not only persevered — they’ve excelled,” Hardy said. “The Class of 2025 leaves behind a legacy of determination, achievement and hope. We are so proud of them.”
