TEXARKANA, Texas — A Liberty-Eylau Independent School District student has earned over $1 million in academic scholarships offers.
Emoni Anderson, senior and valedictorian at Liberty-Eylau High School, plans to study biomedical sciences.
Mallory Wyatt is the education reporter for the Texarkana Gazette. She joined the newsroom as a general assignments reporter in 2022. She holds a bachelors degree in Political Science with minors in International Studies and Social Sciences. In her tenure at the Gazette, Wyatt has helmed projects such as “True Crime Texarkana”, which earned her an award from Texarkana Arkansas Police Department for providing assistance with investigating a 40 year old homicide case; planned and moderated a live political debate between District 1 representative Gary VanDeaver and his opponent Chris Spencer; and travelled to Washington, DC with Texas High School’s marching band to provide coverage on the band’s performances and events throughout the trip.
