LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – A local high school student was one of 16 in the Greater Ohio Region awarded the 2025 Black History Makers of Tomorrow Scholarship!
On Friday, Lima Senior High School’s Terrionna Bagley won a $1,000 scholarship. The Black History Makers of Tomorrow Program awards a scholarship to local, black senior high school students in Ohio for their leadership and positive impacts in the community. Bagley ranks third in her class with a 4.1 GPA and has earned her STNA through Lima Senior’s Patient Care Technology Program while also being captain of the soccer team and a cheerleader. When we talked with Bagley, she said this scholarship means a lot to her.
“It’s just very bittersweet because my first job was McDonald’s, so it’s just like… to be receiving this scholarship is crazy because I started here. They’re the reason I am who I am today. I think this scholarship really is going to let me be stress-free in college, like I don’t have to worry about how I’m going to pay for school, how I’m going to get this money back, if I have to work really hard for it, which I’m used to working hard… but I think the scholarship is really going to put me towards like working harder to get more,” says Terrionna Bagley, recipient of the Black History Makers of Tomorrow Scholarship.
Bagley plans to attend college and major in nursing with dreams of going to med school and becoming a cardiologist.
