At their June 24 meeting, the Skaneateles Lions Club recognized a graduating senior for her outstanding academic achievements, community service, and leadership in numerous school activities.
Every year the Lions award five scholarships to deserving Skaneateles High seniors.
This year the “We Serve” award was earned by Gianna Caraccio.
During her high school years, Caraccio got involved in her communities, helping lead several organizations, sports teams, and impactful service projects.
Caraccio will continue her education at Miami University in Ohio.
Other awardees were Andon Leubner and Emmerson Weed for the BOCES awards; Emma Bigham for the Nursing Award; and Owen Leubner for the Special Effort and Service Award.
Lions International is the largest service organization in the world.
Through the Community Band Songbook, the Holiday Citrus Sale, our New Year’s Day Resolution Walk/Run and other events, the Skaneateles Lions Club is able to donate to a number of local charitable causes, as well as student scholarships.
