LIVERPOOL, N.Y — A high school student in the Liverpool Central School District received a special scholarship to use for college from one of the world's largest companies.
Amna Mustafa, a student at Liverpool High School, has been awarded the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship. She is among one of the 400 students nationwide to receive this honor. Mustafa will receive up to $40,000 over four years to pursue a degree in computer science or engineering in college. In addition to the financial award, she is guaranteed a paid internship at Amazon after her first year of college.
Recipients of the scholarship were selected based on academic achievement, and financial need. Amazon collaborated with Scholarship America to review applications and select the scholars. The scholarship program, launched by Amazon in 2021, aims to connect students with resources to learn about computer science.
