GATES, N.Y. – The hard work of two local teens is paying off as they prepare for a future with Amazon.
Aquinas student Aiden Benoit and Webster Schroeder student Luka Paraskevov got a tour of Amazon’s fulfillment center in Gates Friday.
They are two of only 400 winners nationwide to receive the “Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship,” and also get a paid internship with the company during college.
Benoit and Paraskevov say that money is going to be a big help as they get their degrees.
“The scholarships that can be given out can help atleast like, especially lower income people because they need it more than anyone,” said Benoit.
Paraskevov says he hopes one day he can do some good himself for others.
“Maybe give back in my own way as well,” said Paraskevov. “Maybe start my own scholarship. It’s kind of, you know, the circle of like giving back.”
Benoit and Paraskevov will each get a scholarship of up to $40,000. To learn more about the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship, click here.
