Twenty students who work at the Chick-fil-A in Northport have a little extra money for college this week.
The money comes thanks to Chick-fil-A’s Remarkable Futures Scholarship program, and they’re awarded to employees across the country based on grade-point average, community involvement and an essay. The awards are $1,000 or $2,500.
“It really keeps me in college and keeps me motivated to do good in work,” said employee Jonathan Darden. “I really thank Chick-fil-A to give me the opportunity to apply for this scholarship and to do a great job working here you know.”
This is the third time he’s been awarded a scholarship, and he’s far from alone.
“It’s actually been a great help,” said employee Benjamin Davis, who’s the scholarship three times before. “It’s the reason I haven’t had loans yet. I’ve been able to work and afford tuition as I go and it’s a life changer.”
If you’re interested in supporting this scholarship, all you have to to is buy Chick-fil-A sauce available in grocery stories nationwide. Proceeds from the sauce go to the scholarships.
