Three local high school seniors were awarded $1,000 scholarships at the NAACP Brockton Area Branch’s 3rd Annual Scholarship Award Ceremony, according to a community announcement.
The event took place May 12 at the Brockton Public Library, celebrating the academic achievements and leadership potential of Ariana Vale from North Attleboro High School, Aidan Clancy from East Bridgewater High School and Berline Pierre Louis from Brockton High School.
Education Committee Chair Vanessa Nascimento and NAACP President Phyllis Ellis led the ceremony, commending the students for their accomplishments and encouraging them to continue striving for excellence.
“This event is about more than just grades,” Nascimento said. “It’s about celebrating hard work, resilience and the power of community support.”
In addition to the scholarships, the students received official citations from the City of Brockton Mayor, delivered by Sydné Marrow, Chief of Staff for the Office of the Mayor.
