FARGO — Registration is now open for the largest student-run 5K in honor of 9/11, hosted by the Fargo-Moorhead Student Veterans, a North Dakota nonprofit.
Over the summer, veteran students collaborated with other campus organizations and fraternities to plan the event on Sunday, Sept. 7.

All money raised during the 5K will go to a scholarship fund for survivors and descendants of 9/11 first responders and military members.
More than 100 participants are already registered, including people from Washington, D.C., North Carolina and California. Organizers said anyone is welcome to join.
NDSU students will be on site to help during the race.
“There’s a lot of volunteers from a lot of different organizations. I do believe the track and field team is getting some people out there, my fraternity is getting some people out there, you know we’re hoping to have 150 to 200 volunteers out there, I believe, total,” said Nico Loberg, a senior and fraternity member.
Registration for the 5K is $30, with a discount available for groups of three or more. Participants can register at https://www.fmstudentvets911memorial5k.org
