NEW Cooperative has announced the 14 recipients of its $2,000 agriculture-based scholarships in 2024.
The recipients are, Keegan Bailey (Larry and Kelsey Bailey) of Creston; Austin Evans (Rob and April Evans) from Creston; Jacob Fuller (Brian and Bobbie Fuller) of Osceola; Johnathan Graeve (Chris and Julie Graeve) of Denison; Elizabeth Hadley (Dean Hadley) from Afton; Ethan James (Todd and Katie James) of Corning; Kortney Kogel (Shayne and Michelle Kogel) of Emmetsburg; Dalton Konz (Brian and Heidi Konz) from Garner; Jack Mason (Trent and Angie Mason) of Duncombe; Ava McIntire (Josh and Stacy McIntire) from Thor; John Myers (JD and Jenni Myers) of Hardy; Ella Peterson (Bob and Kim Peterson) from Red Oak; Charles Schon (Joey and Monica Schon) of Coon Rapids and Tyson Tessum (Tyler and Ashley Tessum from Everly.
Mason Graham, graduating senior from Garner-Hayfield-Ventura High School, was also announced as the recipient of NEW’s $4,000 Bob Wallentine Memorial Scholarship. Upon graduation, Graham, the son of Matt Graham from Garner, will pursue his ag business degree at Iowa State University.
Scholarship recipients were selected according to their outstanding leadership potential and interest in pursuing a career in agriculture. Applicants must be full-time students that have been accepted into an accredited two-year college or a four-year university and must be a member of NEW Cooperative or the dependent of a NEW Cooperative member. Scholarship applicants for the Bob Wallentine Memorial scholarship must be a full-time undergraduate student at a four-year university pursuing an agricultural business degree.
