DICKINSON – Within the evolving landscape of higher education, scholarship support is possibly more essential than ever for students applying for college. For the past 35 years, Consolidated in Dickinson has offered scholarships to area students. Recently, Consolidated awarded ten high school seniors $1,000 each. Four students from Dickinson were included in the recipients; Elysa McAvoy, Jack Wood, Haylee Wegleitner and Rhett Seaks.
Each student was required to submit an application and essay by March 1, and selection of winners was primarily based on each student’s essay. Judged by Jeff Simmons, Brent Bautz, Rhonda Dukart, Vaune Johnson, Melissa Gjermundson and Marcus Lewton, additional criteria for selection also included the student’s status as part of a family who purchases at least one service from Consolidated. Children of Consolidated staff were not eligible to apply.

“Consolidated has a 64 year history of supporting the communities we serve and our scholarship program is just one of the ways we are involved,” said Bryan Personne, the general manager of Consolidated. “We congratulate the winners that were selected from among the many outstanding applications we received.”
Three students from Bowman County High School; Adsyon Gerbig, Taylor Wanner and Landyn Gerbig received scholarships, along with Lainey Kucera from Killdeer High School, Carson Wyant from the South Heart High School, and Karady Evans who attends Scranton High School.
Consolidated also offers scholarships for high school students attaining dual enrollment. In January, three students from Hettinger, Blake Larson, Gracia Jorgenson and Erica Havelka, along with one student from New England, Grace Bieber, each received $250 to further their education through Consolidated’s Dual Credit Scholarship program.
Two deadlines are upcoming for further scholarship applications. June 15 is the next deadline for high school students to apply for the Dual Credit Scholarship program and July 15 is the next deadline for students who have completed the first year of a technology degree program to apply for one of two $2000 scholarships through the 2025 Tech Scholarship.
