It’s a bye week but the University of Louisville football coaches are still working.
The staff spent Thursday and Friday on the road recruiting with 10 assistants all over the country. The staff saw some games on Friday night and while on the road extended a few scholarship offers to some younger prospects.
Here’s a look at some of the prospects the staff offered:
**Oradell, N.J., Bergen Catholic edge rusher Jackson Vaughn is a Class of 2028 prospect but already has double-digit scholarship offers. He recently visited Rutgers and has already been to Penn State. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Vaughn already has offers from Texas A&M, Penn State, USC, West Virginia, and others.
Vaughn had four tackles for a loss and four sacks in six games this season as a freshman.
**U of L became the second offer for Port Charlotte, Fla, High School quarterback Logan Flaherty. The 6-2, 185-pound prospect in the ’27 class also has an offer from Tulane. Flaherty has thrown for 986 yards and 16 touchdowns and rushed for 658 yards and three TDs.
Flaherty has accounted for 27 TDs on the season.
**Jacksonville, Fla., Mandarin wide receiver Brysen Wright is a rising star in the ’28 class. The 6-3, 210-pound Wright now has offers from U of L, Georgia, Colorado, Florida, and Florida State with several other schools showing interest.
Wright has 28 catches for 614 yards and eight touchdowns playing opposite of Texas commit Jaime Ffrench Jr.
**U of L has offered a pair of young stars from East Nashville, Tenn., High School.
The Cardinals joined Ole Miss as the first to offer 2027 wide receiver Cam Wade. The 5-11, 165-pound Wade had 13 catches for 348 yards and six touchdowns, while rushing 27 times for 509 yards and two more TDs this season. He has 1,122 all-purpose yards.
**Oak Ridge, Tenn., High School tight end Malik Howard made a visit to U of L earlier this season and landed an offer on Friday. The 6-4, 210-pound prospect in the ’27 class also holds offers from Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, East Tennessee State, and Vanderbilt.
Howard has 29 catches for 353 yards and five touchdowns this season.
Lineman Devin Phillips is another ’28 prospect to claim an offer from U of L. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Phillips also plays basketball and plays both sides of the ball on the line. He has 12 tackles, including two tackles for a loss, on defense.
