SEVIER — Sevier County Partners in Progress Education Foundation recently named the Bryan Atchley/Sid Blalock Memorial Scholarship recipients for 2025-2026.
Kinley Loveday, from Sevierville, is a junior at East Tennessee State University majoring in elementary education. Kinley enjoys working at her church where she volunteers at vacation Bible school and teaches the children’s church class on Sundays. Kinley also volunteers with the organization Compassion to help children in poverty. Kinley is a graduate of Sevier County High School and is passionate about pursuing a career in education.
Alyssa Blackburn is a junior at East Tennessee State University majoring in social work. Alyssa works with a sitter service through DCS called Foundation for Life. Alyssa volunteers at the Sevier County Food Ministry and the R.A.D. group with the Pigeon Forge Police Department. Alyssa is looking forward to continuing her social work and helping children to make their world a little brighter.
The Bryan Atchley/Sid Blalock Scholarship is named after two former Partners in Progress board members. Atchley, who passed away in 2018, was the mayor of Sevierville and a founding member of Partners in Progress. Blalock, who passed away in 2019, was CEO of Charles Blalock & Sons Inc. and like Atchley passionate about education.
