News release from Lubbock NAACP – The Lubbock NAACP proudly invites you to an inspiring evening of purpose and celebration at our Annual Scholarship Dinner on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center, located at 2521 17th St. on the Texas Tech University campus.
The reception will begin at 6:00 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m.
This year’s theme, “We Are Not Going Back!”, is more than a slogan—it’s a powerful declaration of our commitment to protecting civil rights, advancing equity, and uplifting our youth. It’s a rallying cry for our community to stand united in shaping a future rooted in justice, opportunity, and resilience.

Special honors will also be given through the Rose Wilson Leadership Award and the Billie Caviel Business and Community Service Award, celebrating individuals whose legacy of leadership and service continues to inspire.
