Dieterich, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Lucie Jansen has been named the recipient of the Dieterich American Legion Scholarship. A recent graduate of Dieterich High School, Lucie plans to pursue an early childhood education degree at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville. 
 
The Dieterich American Legion Scholarship is awarded to seniors at Dieterich High School based on financial need, academic performance, and community involvement.
 
The scholarship was created by the members of Dieterich American Legion Post 628 following the sale of the American Legion building in 2022.
 
The Dieterich American Legion Scholarship is a fund of the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation. Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation manages more than 250 funds for the immediate and long-term benefit of communities in southeastern Illinois.
