PRESS RELEASE
ATLANTA — Magnet Forensics, a global leader in digital investigation solutions, is proud to announce the launch of the Magnet Agency Impact Award and the continuation of the Magnet Forensics Scholarship Program —with both programs recognizing the tremendous work of public safety agencies around the world.
New York State Police (NYSP) has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Magnet Agency Impact Award, honoring their unwavering commitment to protecting communities and advancing digital forensics to unlock the truth and protect the innocent. In recognition of this award, Magnet Forensics will also provide free unlimited training for a year and team-building activities for the agency, as well as a donation to a charity of their choice.
“We are inspired every day by the incredible work that law enforcement agencies do to seek justice and protect those in need,” said David Miles, President of Magnet Forensics. “The New York State Police demonstrate the passion, dedication, and relentless pursuit of the truth that this award is meant to celebrate.”
The Agency Impact Award is a testament to the unwavering commitment of agencies across the globe that leverage cutting-edge digital forensic technology to solve cases, protect victims, and ensure justice prevails. The New York State Police’s outstanding contributions in digital forensics serve as an inspiration to the entire community, setting a high standard for investigative excellence. Their reliance on Magnet Forensics’ industry-leading solutions has enabled them to conduct thorough and efficient digital investigations, helping to solve complex cases and bring justice to those in need.
An illustrative example of their commitment happened in 2023 and continued into 2024 when NYSP made a substantial arrest of an offender who had abused two young victims and subsequently created and distributed CSAM. Upon completion of a forensic review, this offender’s collection of material was sent to NCMEC’s Child Victim Identification Program (CVIP) for additional analysis. Analysts at NCMEC immediately discovered new children and began working to identify their locations. Through coordination with the NYSP, victim identification referrals were sent to multiple states and territories across the U.S.—resulting in the location of three additional young victims, including an infant, and the arrest of two additional offenders. This is just one of the many stories that could be told about how investigations, forensics, and collaboration with those such as NCMEC can lead to the rescue of numerous children across the world. And it illustrates the necessity of teamwork in protecting children from these monstrous crimes.
As part of its ongoing commitment to giving back, Magnet Forensics is also pleased to announce the recipients of this year’s Magnet Forensics Scholarship Award to six promising officers. The scholarship program provides recipients with opportunities to further their education and training in digital forensics, fostering the next generation of investigators and industry leaders. By investing in education and training, Magnet Forensics empowers individuals to make a difference in their communities and contribute to the advancement of digital investigations.
