Recipients of scholarships administered by the Main Street Community Foundation in 2025.

Recipients of scholarships administered by the Main Street Community Foundation in 2025.
BRISTOL — The Main Street Community Foundation awarded $360,000 to area students from its scholarship funds.
“A total of 194 students received grant awards to further their educational and career goals,” said Samantha Rajotte, scholarship and program officer with the Main Street Community Foundation. “The students are primarily from the communities of Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott.”
All scholarships are awarded through a competitive, blinded application process and are available to students within the foundation’s service area at varying levels of their academic careers.
An all-volunteer selection committee appointed by the foundation’s Board of Directors evaluates all applications before recommending recipients.
The majority of scholarship grants were awarded June 24 at the Main Street Community Foundation’s 2025 Scholarship Reception at DoubleTree by Hilton.
Rajotte said more than 175 people attended the reception, which is held annually to celebrate the recipients and thank generous donors.

Rajotte said each scholarship fund established at Main Street Community Foundation has a “unique and personal story behind its creation.”
They are supported by donors “committed to supporting the academic and career dreams of students” in the communities that the foundation services, she said.
Recipients included students in various stages of their academic careers, including elementary and secondary school students, graduating high school seniors, students currently in college and career training, and adults returning to school.
With the help of these scholarships, they will further their educations in the fields of business, healthcare, criminal justice, journalism, education, engineering, visual arts, skilled trades and more, Rajotte said.
“With each scholarship awarded, the legacy of those who established the fund reinforces the recipients’ abilities to create their own legacies,” she said.
