NAMI Manitowoc County has announced the recipients of their annual scholarship awards.
Julia Mayer of Kiel High School was named the recipient of the Sgt. Terry Peterson USMC Scholarship, while Kaelin Adair of Mishicot High School received the PFC Morgan Daly USMC Scholarship.
In order to be eligible for the scholarships, Mayer and Adair were required to seek higher education in the fields of mental health and its many disciplines.
Mayer will be pursuing a degree in Psychology with the goal of being a counselor, therapist, or psychologist, while Adair plans to pursue a degree in Psychology/Kinesiology with the goal of being a sports psychologist.
The scholarships were named in honor of two local service members who lost their battles with suicide.
