MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) – The Mankato Clinic Foundation awarded 2 graduating senior students the J. Scott Sanders, M.D., Memorial Scholarship.
The foundation gives away the scholarship every year usually to one person, but this year because of how well written their essays were both Gracie Langworthy of Mankato East High School and Elizabeth Sell of Sibley East High School were awarded the scholarship. The scholarship alone is 2,000 dollars, which is the amount both of them received each.
To be eligible, the applicant must be a high school senior and reside within the Mankato Clinic service area, which includes Mankato, North Mankato, St. Peter, Lake Crystal, Mapleton, and nearby communities. Also, to apply, the applicant must write an essay about a time when their character or someone else’s character made a difference in their life or the lives of others and what they learned from the experience.
