Mason County Community Foundation awards over $57,000 in scholarships – WV News

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. (WV News) — The Mason County Community Foundation has announced the successful conclusion of its 2025 Scholarship Grant cycle, awarding more than $57,000 in scholarships to students in Mason County.
Executive Director Stephani Vealey stated, “The Mason County Community Foundation, with support from the Gordon C. & Mildred R. Jackson Foundation, remains focused on providing educational support to deserving students in Mason County. This year’s awards totaled over $57,000 in scholarships. We’ve been fortunate to award over $479,000 since the start of our program in 2016, underscoring our commitment to fostering education and opportunities within Mason County.”
This year marked a significant milestone, as the Foundation received the highest number of applicants to date. To further enhance the scholarship process, the Foundation has invested in a new scholarship software application designed to streamline both the application and review processes.
Recipients from Hannan High School include Brooke Ashworth, Emma Deal, Gabrielle Jefferson, Arden Jeffrey, Avery Hesson, Annabell Woodall, Bailey Smith, Carson Gibbs, Elijah Rickard, Katharine Reynolds, Marissa Roush, Reagan Johnson, Zaylee Wood, Jaidyn Patrick, Joseph “Alex” Shrader, and Grant Barton.
From Point Pleasant High School, scholarships were awarded to Hannah Baker, Addison Snyder, Addyson Stein, Mattilyn Fields, Natalee Fields, Bailey Snyder, Bella Tolliver, Breena Clutter, Brennan Sang, Conner Blessing, Hannah Milhoan, Isabella Dickens, Jada Cossin, Evan Roach, and Grace Thompson. Additional recipients from Point Pleasant include Lauren Kincaid, Makensie Brown, Malea Bechtle, Olivia Fields, Pacey Frum, Reece Oliver, Trenton Murphy, Conner Hatten, Cooper Tatterson, Elijah Lowery, Elizabeth Handley, and Joseph Shrader.
At Wahama High School, honored students are Makensie Brown, Olivia Fields, Pacey Frum, Reece Oliver, Trenton Murphy, Conner Hatten, Cooper Tatterson, Elijah Lowery, Elizabeth Handley, and others who have demonstrated exceptional academic commitment and community involvement.
As the Mason County Community Foundation continues to support local projects and students, it reinforces its mission to make a lasting impact in the community, ensuring a brighter future for all residents of Mason County. For students seeking scholarship opportunities, applications for the next cycle can be submitted online between January 1 and March 15, 2026, at www.mccfinc.org
