The Maui Okinawa Kenjin Kai recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Kelsie Tamayose of King Kekaulike High School.
Kelsie is the daughter of Chad and Janelle Tamayose of Pukalani. She will be attending Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where she will be pursuing a degree in nursing.
The Maui Okinawa Keniin Kai is a nonprofit organization committed to perpetuating the Okinawan heritage, culture and arts. Membership is open to everyone.
