MCC Foundation to host annual ‘5K For Scholarships’ this weekend – WHEC.com

BRIGHTON, N.Y. —The Monroe County Community Foundation’s annual 5K run and walk for scholarships is being held this Saturday.
Proceeds from the event go towards scholarships to help students complete their education at MCC. Since 2009, the event has raised $260,000, and has welcomed over 6,500 participants and donors. This year, their goal is to raise $20,000.
People are able to create a team, join a team, or run/walk by themselves. The race starts at 10 a.m. Saturday. Check-in and registration starts at 9 a.m. at parking lot G on the MCC campus.
After the race, there will be a tailgate party at 10:30 a.m. and a scholarship drawing and awards ceremony at 11:30 a.m.
