MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The Mobile County Public School System said the class of 2026 scored a record-breaking $618 million in college scholarships. That includes $368 million from out-of-state colleges and $250 million in-state schools.
Students also received more than 20,000 acceptance letters, they said.
Students were invited to apply to colleges through a new statewide initiative called Alabama Possible. Through this program, students used a special portal to apply to colleges both in- and out-of-state. They were then matched with admission offers and scholarship dollars.
As a result, the MCPSS is the leader the state in scholarship offers through this program.
