Scholarship funds are available to Los Alamos and Rio Arriba County medical students enrolled in an accredited MD or DO program for the 2025-2026 school year. These scholarships are available through the generosity of the John and Willie Mae Helm Scholarship Fund and the Los Alamos and Rio Arriba Medical Society.
Students are eligible to apply if they are residents or spend the majority of their lives in Los Alamos County or Rio Arriba counties. Applicants are required to write a letter about their medical school background, to fill out a scholarship application form, and to send a copy of their medical school transcript. If the student has not yet completed their first semester of medical school, an undergraduate transcript will be acceptable.
Completed applications must be received at Children’s Clinic by July 15, 2025.
