MiEnergy Cooperative has awarded $80,000 in scholarships to 80 local high school students who exemplify commitment to their local community.Ā 
MiEnergy says their scholarship program reflects the core cooperative principle of commitment to community by recognizing high school seniors who demonstrate cooperative spirit through service to others. The scholarships are funded through unclaimed capital credits that would otherwise be turned over to the state.Ā 
Northeast Iowa students among this year’s 2025 MiEnergy Cooperative Community Service Scholarship winners include:
Crestwood: Korey Hrdlicka, Olivia Johnson, Aubrey Mannery, Brooks Moser, Gage Moser, Erica Ollendick, Laney Peter, Brooke Schwade,Ā  Brock Voyna, and Lydia Williams.
Decorah: Elizabeth Bjork, Carter Dlhy, Reid Kuehner, Beau Newhouse, Kamryn Werges, Kinsey White, and Addison Wicklund.Ā 
New Hampton: Elliott Eiler, Kinsley Hackman, Karla Pickar, Beth Pickar, Reid Rausch, and Carrie Schwickerath.
Riceville: Jaylyn Beran.
South Winneshiek: Grace Baker, Julia Carnesi, Britney Hageman, Kali Kleve, Isabella Kuboushek, Ruby Timp, Kelsey Timp, and Karissa Wenthold.
Turkey Valley: Kinsey Reicks.
MiEnergy Cooperative maintains 5,500 miles of power lines covering most of Fillmore, Houston and Winona counties in Minnesota and Chickasaw, Howard and Winneshiek counties in Iowa. It provides electricity to more than 19,000 members in northeastern Iowa and southeastern Minnesota.Ā
