The Milford Lions Club honored this year’s scholarship recipients during its June 10 meeting, according to a community announcement.
The club grants three $1,500 scholarships annually to Milford High School graduating seniors who are pursuing higher education, according to the announcement. Applicants must hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher, be enrolled in an accredited institution for the fall and demonstrate community commitment through volunteer work.
Special consideration is given to those with impaired sight, hearing, diabetes or other disclosed disabilities.
This year, for the first time, the club opened one $1,500 scholarship to a graduating senior from Hopedale Jr-Sr High School.
Lions Club members evaluated each application based on a scoring criteria on a scale of 1-5. Applicants attaining the highest scores received scholarships.
This year’s recipients from Milford High School were Veti Raval, Sarah Saad and Benjamin Pezza. The recipient from Hopedale Jr.-Sr. High School was Madelyn DiMaio.
