Minnesota Milk awards scholarships to future dairy leaders in Wright County – Herald Journal Publishing

SAINT PAUL — Minnesota Milk Producers Association has awarded six students $2,000 each to support their pursuit of higher education in dairy-related fields.
“These young leaders are enthusiastic about shaping the future of agriculture,” board president Garrett Luthens said. “It’s inspiring to see their dedication to the dairy community.”
Among the recipients:
Dani Poppler, of Harlan and Jennifer Poppler Farm in Wright County, will attend South Dakota State University to study dairy production pre-veterinary medicine. She plans to become a dairy veterinarian.
Lauren Knudson, of Krause Holsteins in Wright County, will begin her studies at Ridgewater College, earning a certificate in artificial insemination. She plans to transfer to South Dakota State University to pursue a degree in animal science and become an AI technician.
Other scholarship winners include students bound for the University of Minnesota – Crookston and Michigan State University, with career goals ranging from veterinary medicine to dairy management and precision agriculture.
Eligible applicants are dependents of current Minnesota Milk farmer members or their employees. Since launching the program in 2006, Minnesota Milk has awarded more than $130,000 in scholarships to students committed to agriculture.
