MU typically likes to see students with a history of proven success in the classroom with a minimum high school grade point average of 2.5. Minimum *SAT requirement is typically an 850 (Math + Critical Reading), but other factors can be taken into consideration. A number of programs have requirements for direct entry that are higher than university minimums. We advise checking the admission requirements for your program of interest within its designated section of the website. Misericordia offers merit-based scholarships for academics as well as community involvement, and need-based awards which can total well over $20,000 per year for qualified students. Visit our Financial Aid page to learn more.

Misericordia University Sophomore Awarded National NSSLHA Undergraduate Scholarship
DALLAS, PA – Misericordia University is proud to announce that Amanda Prinzi, a sophomore in the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) program, has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) 2024-2025 Undergraduate Scholarship.
Prinzi, who maintains an impressive 3.8 GPA, has demonstrated exceptional leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to service. As the President of Misericordia University's NSSLHA chapter, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives, including fundraisers supporting speech-language pathology services in underserved areas and community engagement events promoting inclusivity. Under her leadership, the chapter organized events such as the Belize Fundraiser, which helped graduate students provide speech services in a region lacking speech-language pathologists, and a food drive benefitting local families in need.
Beyond her leadership on campus, Prinzi has gained valuable clinical and research experience. She has been actively involved in the university's Communication in Healthcare and Assistive Technology (CHAT) Lab, contributing to the launch of the SLP-CONNECT program, which supports individuals with aphasia and dementia. She has also co-authored a technical clinical presentation and a poster presentation for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Convention.
Prinzi's dedication extends beyond academics – she has worked with diverse populations through her volunteer experiences at Richmond University Medical Center, Seton Foundation for Learning, and other healthcare organizations.
The National NSSLHA Undergraduate Scholarship recognizes students who exhibit outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and a dedication to the field of communication sciences and disorders. Prinzi's selection as a recipient highlights her passion for the profession and her potential to make a lasting impact in speech-language pathology.
