After missing several years in the wake of Covid, the Miss Black Ardmore Scholarship Pageant will return this year.
The pageant will be at 7 p.m., May 5 at the HFV Wilson Community Center. The Extravaganza Praise Program is new this year and will be from 5 to 6 p.m., also at the center.
The praise program costs $20 for adults and $10 for students with a meal included in the price of the ticket. Minister Carzell Smith of Hugo will be the leader of the praise program.
Following the program, attendees can enjoy the pageant, which is designed to develop talent, self-confidence, self-esteem, self-motivation, enhance public speaking skills while setting goals and working toward them.
The pageant has been in place since 1979 and was founded by Mary “The Fox” Johnson. Cynthia Ager serves as the director and Melody Taylor the assistant director. For additional information, contact Johnson at 580-277-3386.
