When it comes to paying for a college education, any little assistance helps.
According to Illinois Valley Community College President Dr. Tracy Morris, more IVCC students got assistance to pay their education costs this year, and more scholarships became available to help cover those expenses. Dr. Morris says nearly 60 percent of IVCC students who applied for a scholarship received an award.
The IVCC Foundation awarded 327 scholarships worth $377,000 this year compared to 275 scholarships last year.
