AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Amarillo Branch of the NAACP will host its annual Lillie P. Miller Scholarship Banquet on Thursday.
The banquet starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Amarillo Area Foundation located at 919 S. Polk.
Event organizers say this year’s guest speaker is Amarillo native, Dominique Jackson, an educator of League City, Texas.
The NAACP Scholarship Banquet raises funds each year to provide scholarships to a number of academically outstanding Amarillo students.
Tickets for the banquet can be purchased from NAACP members for $35 for adults and $20 for students.
