YAKIMA, Wash. — Over the weekend, the Bounty of the Valley scholarship dinner at Heritage University brought in millions of dollars for students.
This year, $1.29 million was donated to the students of the University.
This is an all time record, and marks the second consecutive year of record high donations at this annual dinner.
“Last year was a new all-time record, significantly. To beat that year over year is almost, I’m gob smacked by the entire thing," said David Wise, the Vice President of External Affairs. "As I’ve told you, the donors of the Yakima valley are legendary, in all realms, and never more so than their support for Heritage University."
About $900,000 of the money raised will go towards scholarships this upcoming academic year, while $500,000 will go towards endowment funds.
