North Platte, NE– In a celebration of academic achievement and financial literacy, NebraskaLand Bank has announced the awarding of scholarships totaling $10,250 to 35 outstanding graduates of the NebraskaLand University Scholarship Program. The awards ceremony was held on Monday, April 22, 2024, marking a significant milestone for both the recipients and the program.
The NebraskaLand University Scholarship Program distinguishes itself by requiring participants to complete the courses criteria and assignments designed to pave the way for academic success and financial understanding. It stands as a testament to the bank’s commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders.
Senator Mike Jacobson, President and CEO of NebraskaLand Bank, announced the winners and awarded the top three essayists scholarships.  Kelly Lammers, Director of the Nebraska Department of Banking, honored the top three essayists with a unique commemorative coin. This coin, a symbol of the student’s dedication and perseverance, highlights the importance of financial literacy as a pillar of lasting achievement.

The comprehensive six-course program offered by NebraskaLand University spans essential topics such as budgeting and savings, credit and loans, career development, wealth building, and identity theft protection. Instruction from Senior and Executive Officers at NebraskaLand Bank ensures a blend of traditional financial literacy with innovative, practical learning experiences.
Since its inception during the 2014-2015 school year, NebraskaLand University has awarded approximately $99,000 in academic scholarships, underscoring its substantial contribution to the community’s educational and economic well-being.
