This year’s scholarship recipients include:
These students are majoring in elementary or secondary education to teach in Nevada following graduation.
Zach Conine, the Nevada State Treasurer, says, “We want to congratulate and reiterate how proud we are of the remarkable recipients of the 2025 Kenny C. Guinn Memorial Scholarship.”
According to the Nevada State Treasurer website, the Nevada Legislature unanimously approved the scholarship in 2011, and then Governor Brian Sandoval signed it into law.
Conine also says, “By choosing careers in education, they are committing to a noble path, one that will shape the lives of hundreds of students in our state for years to come. With each student they teach, they will help shape the future of Nevada.”
The Kenny C. Guinn Memorial Millennium Scholarship goes along with a trust fund managed by the Nevada State Treasurer to gather donations in the late Governor’s honor.
Gabriella Manolete, who is from Eureka, is pursuing degrees in agricultural sciences and secondary education at the University of Nevada, Reno.
“As I enter my last year of undergrad, I look forward to stepping into the classroom full-time, continuing to strengthen the Nevada FFA Association,” said Minoletti. “I hope to become the kind of teacher who inspires students the way my role model, my dad, has inspired his.”
