The Nevada Treasury has announced that applications are now open for the 2025 Kenny C. Guinn Memorial Scholarship.
This scholarship awards $5,000 each to two college students from Northern and Southern Nevada who are majoring in elementary or secondary education with plans to teach in the state.
Established in 2011, the scholarship aims to support exemplary Nevada college students committed to advancing public education.
To qualify, applicants must be eligible for the Millennium Scholarship and enter their senior year at a Nevada institution that offers a bachelor's degree in education.
Eligible schools include the University of Nevada, Reno, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Great Basin College, Nevada State University, Western Governor University, and Touro University.
Applicants must have a declared major leading to licensure in elementary or secondary education, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5, and demonstrate a commitment to teaching in Nevada post-graduation.
A record of community service is also required.
Applications are accepted through the Nevada Treasury scholarship application portal from Monday, February 3, to Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. PST.
