Newman Regional Health recently hosted a reception to recognize four deserving students who have been awarded NRH Foundation Scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year. The recipients, Emma Tyson, Vanessa Peraza-Martinez, Shelby Fox, and Emma
Davis, are all pursuing nursing degrees at Emporia State University.
Each recipient will receive a $3,000 scholarship to support their education and future career aspirations. These scholarships are designed to encourage students from Lyon and surrounding counties to pursue nursing careers, particularly in rural healthcare settings.
“We would like to thank the Dr. Charles and Nadine Hopper Nursing Scholarship Fund and the Nellie M. Crawford Scholarship Fund for their generous donations to Newman Regional Health to help continue to support and grow the future of registered nurses in our
rural community.” said Ashley Nehls, Talent Acquisition & Leadership Development Partner at Newman Regional Health. “We appreciate the continued partnership Newman Regional Health has with ESU nursing and value the opportunities we have to support and celebrate
the students.”
The scholarship selection process is rigorous and considers a variety of factors, including academic performance, community involvement, and a demonstrated passion for nursing.
Newman Regional Health is dedicated to partnering with ESU’s nursing program to provide opportunities for students and strengthen the healthcare workforce in the region.
