Last week, a pair of Deer Park High School multi-sport athletes were named winners of the 2025 Nicholas Brown Memorial Scholarships. Elizabeth Meyers (slowpitch softball and fastpitch softball) and Rody Phillips (football, basketball, and golf) were the recipients of the two $500 awards.
The award will continue until the final class that Mr. Brown taught as sixth graders in the 2022-23 school year graduates.
Two of the criteria for the honor are being a multi-sport athlete and having a passion to go further with their education beyond high school, in college, or technical training.
Kieran says she feels blessed to be able to present these awards and to see student athletes shine. She says Nick’s legacy of selflessness and giving back shows with both of the award winners.
