NMMS Application 2024-25 : The government is providing a 12 thousand rupees scholarship to bright students, The last date for submission of applications for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) for 2024-25 will released soon. Scholarship applications undergo two levels of verification on the National Scholarship Portal, the first level is verified by the Institute Nodal Officer (INO) at the school level and the second level is verified by the District Nodal Officer (DNO).

Each State/Union Territory will conduct its examination to select students at the Class VIII stage for the benefit of the National Average-cum-Merit Scholarship. The state-level examination may consist of the following two tests:
Students must have at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in the Class VII examination to be eligible to appear in the selection test conducted during Class VIII for which a scholarship will be awarded (5% for SC/ST students % discount may be given). The student should be studying as a regular student in a government, government-aided, and local body school.
It will consist of 90 multiple-choice questions, which will test verbal and non-verbal meta-mental abilities, such as reasoning and critical thinking. Questions asked in the exam can be on Inference, Classification, Numerical Theory, Pattern Perception, Hidden Figures etc.
It will be composed of 90 multiple-choice questions covering subjects taught in Classes VII and VIII, such as Science, Social Studies and Mathematics.
Each test will be of 90 minutes duration. Disabled children will be given extra time as per their merit. The student who will clear all the exams for the scholarship will get the scholarship amount.

To select students, the following criteria will be considered. Students are required to pass both MAT and SAT exams, achieving a minimum of 40% aggregate marks across these two tests. For SC/ST students, the cutoff is reduced to 32%.
When being considered for a scholarship, students must have scored at least 55% or an equivalent grade in their Class VIII examination. SC/ST students will receive a 5% relaxation in this requirement.
National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme.
The scholarship program offers selected students in grades 9 through 12 financial assistance of Rs 12,000/-. In October 2024, several other state governments, including those in Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and others, will make the MMMS registration forms available.
It is expected that the registration for the NMMS 2024 is open through October 13. The last day to submit printed copies of online registered application forms, NR (two copies), and payment receipts will released soon.
The NMMS scholarship 2024 is open to students enrolled in class 8 as regular students in an Indian public, public-aided, or local body school. For the student to be eligible for NMMS, they must have received a minimum of 55% of the possible points in Class 8. (50 per percent for kids who are SC/ST).
